I’m back.
I really did leave. When COVID-19 struck in Canada in March 2020, my world fell completely apart and I was teleported into some other place.
I was revisiting the news from that time and for the first time in awhile, I recalled how truly scared I was. I discovered the hard way that “the ground is a viable place” - made so only by the love of my life, Sam. I’m so lucky to have met her just in time to be locked down together.
When the stay-at-home order came, I had the busiest season yet ahead of me! I had a great Spring of gigs lined up with the City of North Vancouver, ambitions to return to the Okanagan to perform at more wineries, and even get back down to the United States for my second international show.
That was then.
Today, I start the now.
Step #1: book my first in-person show of 2022. I’m setting a goal for myself to contact one venue/event per day, and am setting my expectation to about a 40% booking rate to start.
I’ve settled on Pastameli as my target - an Italian restaurant in the Caulfield Village area of West Vancouver. I’ll report back with my results.
In the meantime, I want to welcome you to In Search of Foreverland. It’s a fancy title that probably means more to me than anyone else (okay, maybe my buddy From Ash & Dust will get it too), but by the end of this journey, we will have uncovered secrets of the universe unimaginable to our conscious minds.
Because every story has a few lessons along the way, right?
